About Me

Hello,

My name is Amiela; some people call me Ami.

I have always worked hard for my employers. I am coach-able, and learn new tasks quickly. My strong points are safety, being a team player, and reliability. I often self-teach to keep myself learning; currently I am learning to speak Spanish from a language app. I’m blessed with any opportunity that comes my way, and am very thankful for all considerations.

Though I have had very few employers, I have had many different types of experiences. I started working at McDonald’s at the age of 16. During my eight years with the company, I went from a crew member to an assistant supervisor. My main duties were to make schedules, effectively run the team to produce high profits in a fast-paced environment,  record inventory, order new product based on sales, count and record daily deposits, and perform open and closing procedures. In addition to those duties, I also taught classes for the newly hired employees, both in a classroom and on the job training sessions. I then moved on to better opportunities, when I moved to San Antonio. After working for about another year at McDonald’s here, I found a great job at Sea World. My first position here was with night park operations. During my time with them, I learned quickly how to drive the tractor, run a pressure washer, extract and clean carpets, and detail cleaning. I also became a team leader, tasked with safety, inventory, and managing teams around the park. A new opportunity became available in another department, where I am currently working. I have been here approximately eight years. My position is a Scenic Painter, but I have learned to perform tasks way beyond those of a Painter. I have learned to operated many types of heavy machinery, make props for trainers as well as animals, built many types of structures, cast molds and impressions, and work with an array of chemicals and coating products. I am the lead Painter.  There are always things to be learned here. Although I like my job,  I am hoping to use the skills I have learned over the years to start a new career.

Let me tell you a little about me personally. I have one son, and I am Married. My husband has two boys as well. I am a Christian woman, who holds strong to her faith. I am a small group leader for 1st through 5th grade on Sunday mornings. I spend most of my weekends outdoors, usually with my camera in hand.  I am from Lubbock Texas, but I have lived in San Antonio for ten years. I love the diversity of our city, and can not see myself leaving here any time soon!
